Jumbled up thoughts...with a purpose!

People say trust no one but yourself. I don't understand this. I can't go through life trusting only myself. Blood is thicker than water they say. Yes, I see that a lot but sometimes I find water to be more pure than blood itself. I really don't understand how is one to go through life doubting. I have always been the sort who trusts first and only falter from this judgment if I am betrayed..terribly betrayed. This has brought tremendous joy into my life, but it has also brought a whole lot of pain. Speak your mind I am told. I do...on things which severely infringe on my beliefs. But I find that more often than not, in the larger scheme of things, matters are too trivial to push to the brink. If a person can't seem to agree to disagree or can't see beyond their own little vision field, let them be I say. It doesn't mean that we are any less adamant on our views, it just means we know when to back off. A good point was made in a recent seminar I attended, in a discussion, it is crucial for us convey our opinion but not to convince people to agree with our thoughts. Convey your message strongly and clearly...that will be enough. If your points are valid enough, then there won't be a need to convince. On another note, its harder to wake a person who's pretending to sleep than one who is truly asleep. I can't agree with this more...I am surrounded by many who are pretending...to sleep.

After all is said, I can't help but reflect on myself. I see good, I see bad, I see the strength, I see the fear...I just don't see, right now, ... THE WAY...

Whispers of a troubled heart ...

What do you when you realize that your strength and resolve are waning and you're no longer completely satisfied to receive encouragement from the regular sources? What do you when you yearn for more than you know is possible? Is that a sign that it is time for the next step? Do you throw caution to the wind and take that bold step? Or do you surrender to the norm and let the natural graces guide your path?
If only the heart and mind speak the same language, sing the same tune, dance to the same rhythm. IF ONLY ...

Long Resume vs Good Judgement

I was reading an article in the STAR about the political debates going on between the presidential candidates in US. I came across a statement made by Barack Obama in his attempt to attack Hillary Clinton's credibility.

"There are a couple guys named Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld who had two of the longest resumes in Washington and led us into the biggest foreign policy disaster of a generation," Obama said at a campaign stop in Alton, New Hampshire. "So a long resume doesn't guarantee good judgment. A long resume says nothing about your character."

I couldn't agree with him more!

I choose strength

How much do you love yourself?

"Of course, I love myself, I'd snapped. It's the first law of self-preservation. I firmly believe in it. "

"You may believe in it, but you don't practice it," he said.

I cared more about everyone else's feelings than my own. I'd overextend myself to do anything anyone asked, to honor his or her feelings. I didn't want anyone to think I wasn't "nice," or worse, that "the money has gone to her head.

This, too, I know for sureā€¦loving yourself means honoring yourself and your own feelings first.

A dose of motivation...

Every once in awhile we all need a reminder...

When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.
~Audre Lorde

Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal: my strength lies solely in my tenacity.
~Louis Pasteur

Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.
~Winston Churcill

"No matter what you face in life, if your passion is strong enough, you will find the strength to succeed."
